The Culpepper family got into waterskiing gung ho in the late 70's and early 80's.
Bruce Culpepper and wife Kathy have two children that have excelled in the sport. Lane as a Junior girl, was skiing the course and winning tournaments as early as age 8 and later became a national level contender in slalom, tricking, and jumping. She also had a distinguished career as a collegiate skier and now, in the Women 2 division can still pop off a 90 footer, get into 32 off and trick 3000 points.
Brother Todd also became quite good at skiing, having set the National Trick skiing record on several occasions as a Boys 1 skier and went on to win the Nationals, not only in Boys 1, but Boys 2 as well, and placing 2nd in the Boys 3 division. He later became known nationally as a collegiate skier winning the Allstars and Division 2 National overall title while competing for the University of Georgia.
Bruce, still competing in the Men 5 division (over 54), has coached not only his kids(actually they've been coaching him since they were 14), but dozens of newcomers to the world of competion style skiing. He has been the coach of the UGA and the Georgia College ski teams and a mentor for skiers who just love to practice and work at the sport.
Kathy always said she was the "equipment" manager but has contributed greatly to the promotion of waterskiing particularly with her BBQing skills at dozens of tournaments since 1993.
The entire Culpepper family is proud to have been part of skiing in Georgia for so many years and is proud of their site and the fact that so many people have learned to love waterskiing while visiting with us. Come join us!
