LANE CULPEPPER HAMMACK              TODD CULPEPPER

2006 was a big year at Culpepper Lake as we hosted a Collegiate tournament in the Spring and Fall and we held the 2006 Georgia State Championships in July and to cap it off, the site was the scene of a gala wedding reception for newlyweds Lane (Culpepper) and Ryan Hammack in late September.

This year, not as much is planned but we intend to do a lot skiing none the less.

At this time, we are scheduled to be the site of a South Atlantic Conference collegiate tournament sponsored by Georgia Southern in April and will of course be the training site for the local college, GC&SU's waterski team.

We were proud to have, for the 5th year in a row, the collegiate team from University of Wisconsin Stout, to visit and spend their Spring Break camping and skiing daily at Culpepper Lake.  The weather was cooperative and quite warm (80's) during their March 10-17 stay.  We enjoy having these students to visit because, although they do their share of "partying" they always take care of the place while renting the facilites for the week.

We were sad to loose one of our longtime ski club members Randy Howard recently.  Randy had been a fixture in the boat around here for years and had recently built a house on the lake, having been in love with naturistic setting for years.  He suffered a heart attack in February at age 47. He will be missed.
